Junior Women at NORCECA Championships

Team Canada’s junior women’s team head to Mexico this week for the NORCECA Championships, where they will be battling for one of three qualifying spots at the 2009 World Championships.

Starting on Tuesday, the junior women play Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and USA in pool play. And with a strong roster, the hopes of finishing in the top 3 and going to Worlds in 2009 must be high indeed.

Here’s the roster:

  • Setters: Megan Cyr, Brina Dersksen-Bergen
  • Outsides: Celeste Bonter, Maura Hayes, Tabitha Love, Shanice Marcelle, Sofie Schlagintweit, Kelci French
  • Middles: Caroline Jarmoc, Becky Pavan, Ali Sandholm
  • Libero: Dannie Richards

You can follow the action on the official tournament site, or check for updates on Volleyball Canada. And we’ll do what we can to keep you updated here, as well.
