The banquet is done, the championships start today… and we have a list of the All-Canadians and award winners!

… and not a dud in the bunch! This year’s all stars from Quebec are some of the cream of the crop of Canadian women’s volleyball. And we’ll see more than just a few of them at the National Championships, so you can have a look for yourself!
Here’s the list.

This coming weekend sees a bunch of the better women’s teams in the CIS heading to Ottawa for the Quality Hotel uOttawa Invitational. There’s a mixture of ranked and bubble teams, all of them powerful, which means there will be some great matches to be had for anyone who can get out and watch.

The first of the Atlantic-Quebec interlock tournaments is on this weekend, the women at Universite de Moncton, and the men at Sherbrooke.

This weekend, McGill hosts their annual Invitational women’s tournament, and with 8 teams in attendance from Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes, it should be a very good weekend of matches indeed.

Apparently, there’s a tournament at Queen’s this weekend — the Queen’s Invitational. And apparently, RMC, Waterloo, Western, Laurier, York, Laval and McGill are all going to be there. The preseason for CIS women’s volleyball gets kick-started this weekend with a big tournament in Winnipeg.

As the national championship tournament gets underway today, this year’s All-Canadians for women’s volleyball were announced last night. And what a great list! I won’t give you all the details on each player, but check the CIS website for a great article on the accomplishments and stats of each of this group of remarkable women.
