Team Canada. Australia. Japan. Three of my favourite things, and all in one place. And where was I? Not in Winnipeg, that’s for sure. Damn.

Canada battled back from 2 down to defeat Mexico 3-2 (18-25, 21-25, 34-32, 25-21, 15-12) in a marathon of a match to earn a 5th-place finish at the NORCECA Championships yesterday in Saltillo, Mexico.

The Canadian junior women’s team got back on track at the NORCECA Championships in Saltillo, Mexico yesterday, beating Trinidad and Tobago 3-straight (25-16, 25-13, 25-11) in just under an hour to set up a match with Mexico for 5th place today.
Junior Women Swept by Puerto Rico
Team Canada’s hopes for a medal and a spot at the 2009 Worlds ended last night as the junior women were swept (25-22, 25-19, 25-7 — ouch!) in fairly authoritative fashion by Puerto Rico at the NORCECA Championships in Saltillo, Mexico.
US Beats Junior Women 3-1
Team Canada’s junior women faced off against the US in the last match of pool play yesterday, and the US emerged with a 3-1 (25-22, 25-13, 18-25, 25-21) win at the NORCECA Championships in Mexico.

Junior Women Downed by Dominican
Team Canada’s junior women took the first game from the Dominican Republic, but that’s as far as it went, as the Domincan won 3-1 (27-29, 25-16, 25-15, 25-17) yesterday in pool play at the NORCECA Championships in Mexico.
