Welcome to Bomberino!

Bomberino is a blog about Volleyball. We hope to keep you up to date on the latest news in volleyball, whether it’s college or club, international or in the local gym. Here you’ll find stories about how national teams are doing, what up-and-comers you can expect to see in club ball, and how some of your favourite university teams are doing. We’ll bring you reports from around the volleyball community, and tell you where you can get more information on players, programs, and coaching. Mostly, though, we’re here to bring you the latest in volleyball news, and hear what YOU have to say. It IS a team sport, after all.

Why Bomberino?

In the early 1900’s, volleyball players in the Philipines developed the offensive style we know as the set and spike. The player hitting the ball was called a Bomberino. Times and terms may have changed, but the excitement for the game remains the same — from the first spike serve to the last side out, from the Bomberino to the Libero, Bomberino.com is dedicated to the love of the game.
