Tournament All-Stars and MVPs announced

The 17U/18U Canadian Open tournament all-stars and MVPs from each of the top divisions were announced today.
In the 18U men’s division, middle hitter Terell Bramwell of the tournament champion Pakmen (Mississauga, ON) was selected as the MVP. The all-star team included a couple of Bramwell’s teammates from the Pakmen: David Williams, a right-side hitter, and Daniel Dearing, a left-side hitter. Rounding out the list are right-side hitter Dane Pishke and left-side hitter Chris Voth of the silver-medalist Bison Gold (Winnipeg, MB), as well as left side hitter Steven Hunt of the bronze-medalist Toronto Boys.
In Division I of the 18U women’s competition, left-side hitter Tabitha Love of the gold-medalist Selkirk Royals was selected as the tournament MVP. Royals’ setter Megan Cyr and left-side hitter Kayla-Dawn also made the all-star team, along with left-side hitters Amber Brown and Camille Saxton from the silver-medalist Canuck Pulse (Calgary, AB). Setter Brina Derkson-Bergen from the bronze-medalist FVVC Blitz (Langley, BC) and left-side hitter Mariel Garcia from the fourth-place Cobras (Winnipeg, MB) were also selected to the tournament all-star team.
In the 17U men’s division, setter T.J. Sanders from the tournament champion Forest City (London, ON) club was selected as the tournament MVP. Forest City libero Bryan Duquette and right-side hitter Justin Scapinello also made the all-star team. Left-side hitter Philipe Yeldon and middle hitter Jeremie Lortie of the silver-medalist Ottawa Mavericks Desperadoes were named to the team as well, along with middle hitter Matthew Isaacs of the Durham Attack (Oshawa, ON) and left-side hitter Travis Horgan of the Storm Hurricanes (Aurora, ON).
In Division I of the 17U women’s competition, setter Jordyn Moloney of the gold-medalist Durham Attack Black (Oshawa, ON) was selected as the tournament MVP. Durham’s Alexandra Goc, a left-side hitter, and Rebecca Glancy, a middle hitter, were named to the all-star team, along with setter Kellie Baker and middle hitter Sarah Friesen from the silver-medalist Brandon Tristar Storm (Brandon, MB). Middle hitter Julia Pasieka of the bronze-medalist Dinos (Calgary, AB) also made the team, along with left-side hitter Shannan Wheatcroft of the fourth-place Aurora Storm Typhoon (Aurora, ON).
